Restoration, Adaptative Reuse and Penthouse Addition
Preservation Consultant
48-50 Lispenard 2004
TRA provided the consultation services for the restoration of the Landmarked facades for the two loft buildings and for the penthouse addition.
Based on the fact that the addition does not change the building typology, the Landmark Commission approved the two stories visible addition, making an exception to the moratorium that limits these structures to a single floor.
These are two of the numerous two level penthouse additions obtained by TRA in Landmarked Districts, which include 22 Mercer, 6 Cortlandt Alley and , most recently , 23 East 63rd.
